Privacy Policy

Ruqyah Daily is operated by Alchemy & Waves Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. This policy explains what we store, why, and what control you have over it. We have tried to write it plainly rather than legally.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, whether you are male or female, and your email address. These three are the only questions in the app you cannot skip: the email is how you sign in and return to your own data, the name is so the app can greet you rather than address a stranger, and your raqi sees both. You can change the name later in Settings.
- Your check-ins: hours slept, how you are feeling, and any notes you choose to write.
- A phone number, only if you offer one: one optional field on the sign-up screen, which you can leave blank. It exists so a raqi or we can reach you; it is never sold, never shared, and never used for marketing.
- What earlier versions asked: sign-up used to ask what symptoms you had noticed and the year you were born. We no longer ask either. If you created your account while those questions existed, your answers are still on it — you can see and erase them by deleting your account, and nothing in the app reads them today.
- What you are seeking healing from: either one of the options we offer, or your own words if you choose to write them. This is used to shape the du’a step of your daily session. Nobody but you can read what you write here — not our administrators, and not your raqi.
- Your practice: which adhkar you completed, how many minutes of self-ruqyah you recited, and which recitations you played, on what date. This is what draws your rings and your streak.
- Your location, only if you turn on prayer reminders: your approximate coordinates, rounded, so that prayer times can be calculated for where you actually are rather than for one city. It is stored on your account and used for nothing else. If you never turn prayer reminders on, we never ask for it and never hold it.
- Your Companion conversations: messages you send and the replies you receive.
- Basic usage data: anonymous statistics about which screens are used and which actions are completed, so we can find what is broken or confusing. This never includes the content of your notes, your own words about your affliction, or your conversations.
We do not collect your contacts, your photos, or any payment details. The app is free and has no payment system.
This is sensitive information
Notes about your sleep, your feelings and your spiritual distress are personal. We treat them as sensitive data. Your entries are protected at the database level by access rules that restrict every row to the account that created it — one user cannot read another user’s check-ins, notes, or conversations, even if they tried.
Who can see your data
- You: always, through the app.
- Your raqi, if you gave a phone number: that number and your name are visible to us and to a raqi working with us, because a contact number nobody may read cannot be used to make contact. Nothing else about you is.
- Our administrators: can see that actions happened and when — that a check-in was saved, that a session was completed — so we can tell whether the app is working and who may need support. They cannot read the content of your check-in notes, your Companion conversations, or what you wrote about what you are seeking healing from. That is enforced by the database, not by policy alone.
- Your raqi: sees nothing at all unless you choose to show them. The app can produce a printable report of your own progress that you may share with a raqi, a doctor or your family. That is your decision each time, and we are not involved in it.
- Nobody else: we do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Services we rely on
- Supabase: stores your account and your entries.
- OpenAI: powers the Companion. Messages you send in that tab are processed by OpenAI to generate a reply. Do not share information there you would not want processed by a third party.
- Vercel: hosts the app.
- Resend: sends account emails, such as confirming your address.
- YouTube: some recitations may play through YouTube’s player, in which case Google may record that a video was played.
- PostHog: anonymous usage statistics, so we can see which parts of the app are used or broken. It is configured so that it does not record your screen, your notes, your check-in text, or your Companion conversations. It receives only that an action happened — for example “a check-in was saved” — identified by a random account number, never your name or email.
Notifications
If you turn on prayer reminders, we store an anonymous identifier for your device so a reminder can be delivered to it. You can turn reminders off in Settings at any time, which removes it. We never send marketing notifications.
This app is not medical advice
Ruqyah Daily does not diagnose conditions and is not a substitute for medical care. Nothing in this app should be used in place of seeing a doctor. If you are unwell, see a doctor — ruqyah and medical treatment are not alternatives to one another.
The Companion does not diagnose conditions, issue religious rulings, or replace a raqi, scholar, doctor, or mental health professional. If a message suggests you may be in danger, it will respond only with a crisis helpline. If you are in crisis, please contact a local emergency service or a helpline directly.
Your rights
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, in Settings. You can also request deletion without installing the app — see the deletion page linked below.
You can ask us to export your data at any time by emailing hello@alchemyandwaves.co.uk. We will action any request within 30 days.
Children
This app is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects how your data is used, we will update the date at the top and notify you in the app.
